Christians and Patriots from across the state will unite for a Faith and Family at the State Capitol

Rally on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol

Thursday, May 12at 9:30 a.m.

Join us as we stand together to oppose Common Core and REAL ID-- and urge our Legislators to protect our faith, our families, and our freedom.

The coming weeks will bring votes on landmark legislation that will shape the Louisiana our children and grandchildren will inherit. Louisiana legislators will decide in coming weeks whether Common Core— the so-called "Louisiana" standards are a thinly-veiled rebrand of the old Common Core standards— will dominate Louisiana Classrooms. Louisiana Legislators will also decide whether Louisiana opts in to a compulsory National ID (REAL ID).

Christians and Patriots from across the state will unite for a Faith and Family at the State Capitol Rally on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol on Thursday, May 12at 9:30 a.m. Join us as we stand together to oppose Common Core and REAL ID-- and urge our Legislators to protect our faith, our families, and our freedom.

Common Core, and Common Core-aligned curricula have discouraged students, exasperated teachers, and angered parents and grandparents. Convoluted, poorly-designed textbooks have turned educational fundamentals upside down; threatened to eclipse our tried and true Louisiana teachers— who have been retiring and switching careers at alarming rates; and denigrated the time-honored values of Christianity, Patriotism and Honor.

We have introduced SB 330, which would allow local school districts to pull the plug on Common Core. The Senate Education Committee Hearing on SB 330 will occur later on the morning of Thursday, May 12, 2016, in the Hainkel Room in the basement of the Capitol. I urge all citizens to attend.

Like Common Core, REAL ID is an expensive Federal power grab. The REAL ID Program allows the government to place biometric facial scans and birth documents of Louisiana Citizens in a National digitized data base controlled by a mega-global corporation. REAL ID a potential blueprint for the federal government to track and control the movement of law abiding citizens. Please:

1. Distribute this letter to your friends and family by E-Mail and Social Media.

2. Attend the Faith & Family at the State Capitol Rally at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016, on the steps of the State Capitol.

3. Attend the Senate Education Committee Hearing later that morning, in the Hainkel Room in the basement of the State Capitol.

4. Ask your Legislators to get rid of Common Core and Real ID for good.

5. Pray for God to strengthen us.
